You gotta love the believers. TenX’s co-founder Julian Hosp is definitely bullish about market leader BTC with his prediction for the second half of 2018. At the RISE tech conference in Hong Kong the crypto wallet and card start-up founder said to CNBC:

“I predicted for 2018, we’re going to see $5,000 and $60,000. So $5,000, we pretty much hit it, so let’s see if we can do the $60,000. I’m still quite confident.”

The Julian Hosp Prediction

It’s an interesting range-covering prediction. And while the coin has come “close” to $5,000 this year, it hasn’t actually hit it. The lowest we’ve seen this year is $5,700 in June. The way the market has been faring of late, it is a bears ground right now so it wouldn’t be a surprising turn of events if it did hit the 5k mark. It’s almost more a question of, when?

But to reach 60K (which is triple the amount of Bitcoin’s all-time-high of 20K) would take some major event to push the coin price up there. Hosp does recognize this. He is a believer, but not blindly bullish, stating that it would take a “massive positive event” to send Bitcoin to the moon.

An event could be a bitcoin exchange-traded fund or ETF, which many believe is what the cryptocurrency market needs to stabilize, but attempts at establishing this have been futile as the application has been refuted by the SEC on more than one occasion. Maybe 2018 will see a successful application be green-lit.

Hosp is holding firm though on his prediction. He joins the ranks of other major crypto figures sending Bitcoin to the moon in 2018. Tom Lee has famously predicted the coin to reach $25k, Financial analyst Brian Kelly also believes Bitcoin will see major gains.

But of course, the bears are out in full force too with analysts Willy Woo and Vanguard economist Joe Davies believing the coin will crash to zero.

And then there’s Roger Ver believing Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash will out-run the leader, pushing it further down the rabbit hole, but then he is never going to be bullish about BTC is he?

It’s anyone’s game really.
